This kit was first released by Altus in 2007 and is distributed as a Wonder Showcase kit. If you follow my work you will know that I like to do figures in some context. Alice, in her large chair, certainly fits into this framework. The interesting challenge will be to texture and shade her chair so that it has some realistic colors. [...] This model is a really weird machine with a figure in it. I want to experiment with some Alclad II lacquers on this – the prismatic type – to see what happens. I am going to try a spectrum of colors on the machine from the front to the back. Gold to green, green to blue, and blue to ultraviolet.
